Why Colombian monkeypod
Native Colombian wood, not plantation timber
Our wood is the original Samanea saman (same family as Albizia saman), native to Colombia, where the tree is called campano. It comes from mature, free-standing trees of the savannas of Córdoba and Sucre, not from plantations. Suar comes from plantations in Asia, where the tree was planted and is not native.

Mature trees with a large trunk diameter and fully developed heartwood: wide slabs and an exceptional figure.
Thicker and longer

Legal origin
Permits and certificates per tree. No forest or jungle is felled; we take part in reforestation in our region.

What sizes are possible?
Majestic: 50 cm to 5 m (20 in to 16 ft) long, 70 to 120 cm (28–47 in) wide, 5 to 12 cm (2–5 in) thick. Solana: about 150 cm (59 in) across. Luna: about 125 × 80 cm (49 × 31 in). Aphelion is a one-off; its size is that of the trunk. Other sizes: just ask.
Which finishes do you offer?
Raw (unfinished slab for your own workshop), finished for indoor use (planed, sanded and finished with Rubio Monocoat Pure; other colours and finishes possible) or finished for outdoor use. Optionally a coloured epoxy river through the centre.
How does delivery to the USA or Europe work?
We take care of everything up to delivery at your home or project: packing, documents, freight, import and delivery. Direct from Cartagena to the USA and the Caribbean; Europe via our own company in the Netherlands. You get one all-in price.

Yes. Furniture stores, interior designers, hotels and furniture makers get project pricing and raw or finished slabs in volume.
